Hello guys.

I bought an SKX 009 nearly two years ago. I started to watch the Youtube videos on changing the stock rubber strap to a nato. However, some time after I realised just how big the modifying community with this watch really was.

I started researching and buying the tools I needed to change the bezel, bezel insert, hands and crystal.

All of the tools I bought were from eBay and to be fair, they were just fine.

So here's some pics of my adventures with my Seiko SKX.

Yeah the ghost bezel is the latest one that I put on. The previous black one, I made a mistake with the Press and stuck the bezel down with the ceramic black insert glued in. It's a learning process though and at £25 a pop, it's an enjoyable thing to learn and doesn't break the bank.

Well done! If someone asked me if I’d like a diver with a white bezel and a jubilee bracelet I’d say “hell no!” But man, that thing looks hot!

It's great fun. It scratches the itch while I save for a 214270.

I'm up for letting you guys know what items i bought, tools etc if anyone wants to have a go at modding as well. Cheers.

In the first pic it looks like your second hand was not installed all the way. Did you push it down all the way before installing it into the case? I don't know if you bought a dial protector but you can use a ziploc with a slit in the middle if you don't have one.

Hi mate. Yeah the seconds hand was one of the hardest things I've ever done ha. But one of the most enjoyable as well. Imagine this, my first mod and I manage to get new hands on the dial. The first pic was just in the middle of the process. I managed to fit it on properly in the end. Rodaco* helped massively. Also, I bought a Bergeon dial protector before I started.

As I said, I am saving for an Explorer and I have a Seamaster. The Seiko gives me so much enjoyment, I honestly couldn't decide what one I love the most.

Maybe I can find a cheapish SKX007 online. That black dial would be fun to mod.
