Why Doesn't My DateJust Have A QuickSet Date?
I recently acquired a 31mm DateJust with serial 5,7XX,XXX, corresponding to a 1979 production year. I've been told from various sources that the Quickset feature was introduced in 1978 for (all?) DateJust models. So why doesn't my 1979 DateJust have Quickset? Is it due to Rolex solely focusing on 36mm models and rolling out the feature to smaller sized cases through the years?
Thanks in advance to anyone who can shed some light on this issue! |

Quickset date was introduced in ~1978 with the 3035 movement, which is in the 36mm models. 31mm models used the smaller ladies movement.
The Ladies 2035 movement did not have quickset, that came in ~1983 with the 2135 updated movement.

Does it have the pseudo-quickset, where you advance the hour hand past midnight to about 2 Am (making the date change), back it up four hours to 10PM and then advance it takes 2 again for another date change? Repeating for as many days as necessary?
