I’ve got to say.... while I love my Smurf, I had not worn it in many months until this thread. I acquired mine about 3 years ago ‘by accident’. A local jeweler I use has a very small pre owned watches. On the given day, I was in the shop for a reason I no longer remember. He had the Smurf, offered, I said no, and he then started walking down the price. It got to a number that a blind, deaf and dumb person couldn’t ignore (It got it so cheap I still can’t believe it. And yes I’ve had it checked out). I bought it, wore it off and on. Last summer I had a 3 day biz trip to Boston in the summer. I took Le Smurf for the trip. The off hours, bars, summer sweat, Fenway and so on were all part of the trip. By the time I got home I ‘felt’ the smurf and sort of backed off. But now that I’ve rediscovered it thanks to this thread, I am again in love! The Smurf feels like sex on your wrist, it looks terrific (to my eye at least). It’s just a fantastic watch in my favorite element (white gold). If anyone has the chance to buy one, do it! Pull the trigger. Do not listen to your wife!!! Get it, wear it, hold on to it. It’s perfect.

I’ve only ever seen one in the wild, and that was in a Italy on a train from a Rome to Firenze. I remember thinking ... “damn, that’s a fine looking watch”.

You too! And as a side note, I had my friend service the movement but I did not get it polished. It looks good in that photo, but the bracelet is scratched a lot. I don’t mind. I’ll let the PCLs go another 6 years and then have LAWW redo the case and bracelet. I just dig wearing it in most any activity.

That’s Exactly how I feel about my GMT, which I bought new in 1995. The bracelet got so wrecked, I’ve put it on a rubber strap which is so great and just enables me to keep wearing it and wearing it.
