Omega Lume Question
Hey everybody, I have a question about certain Omegas and their lume colors. It seems like the seamaster professionals have a blue lume, whereas I've seen Planet Ocean models with what appears to be either green or blue lume depending on the picture. Most people seem to agree that Omega has very impressive lume, but I'm wondering which color is used on the Planet Ocean?

the one I looked at seemed to have the same green lume my 2254 Seamaster has....I think..
I think the lume looks different sometime due to the individual cameras and the white balance settings.. gw |

The white balance could definitely be factoring in, nice picture! Interestingly enough I've seen pictures of that style of watch (SMP) that have a definitively blue pigment. If it isn't the white balancing, perhaps they switched what color superluminova they used briefly, then went back.

My 2254.50 is definitively green in hue:
The PO lume appears to be more bluish. Fr. John† |

Very interesting. In person it does still appear to be green, but not quite as green as yours Fr. John. Perhaps they used a blue color for a while, or people are white balancing differently, or the exposure time effects it.

These two pictures are even of the same exact watch, by the same photographer if I'm not mistaken!

I think Omega uses SuperLuminova color C3 on the Seamasters at least. It is supposedly the brightest glowing of the colors and looks a yellowish green in normal light. Green when glowing. Your first image looks the more accurate.

The 2254 style Seamasters have green lume, while the Bond style (at least in their newer Black incarnation) have blue lume.
But in the complete dark the 2254 is very green (as well illustrated by Father John's post in this thread) while the Bond is greeny blue (The 212.30 Bond is on the left in the pic below) |

Very informative! A couple people said that the "black bond" watch is using blue in the latest models. Do you mean the SMP bond? As others have indicated, the ones I've seen mostly appear to be a blue-green, but definitely green in some form.
