it's really personal preference. i personally like the sub date. very useful for daily wear.

Go with the sub and use the bezel as your date complication.

I wouldn’t be influenced by anyone or anything.
I like the look of the submariner date a little more as well.
I like both although , but find the date function slightly
at an advantage if only a one and done.

So true. I started with a 36mm white dial DateJust. Few laters later, SS Submariner Date. Now I’m looking at the 39mm OP white dial.
