If you can honestly look at that collection and "give up" trying to be happy until you buy one more almost identical Rolex then nobody else is going to help you with that decision making process.

You don't need another but if you say you do then just buy it/them.

Lol it's not real happiness attempt derived from my watches, just a lighthearted joke, especially in today's world. But good point well taken, I'm not sure the next one will fulfill me anyway, it's tough to know whether there actually is a 'destination' where you are completely content with a collection and never want another watch, or if it is about the journey.

I've got other watches, this is just the rolex collection. Nothing higher echelon than rolex though, and honestly I've never been really interested in going to the next level (e.g. patek, AP). 'Below' rolex I've owned several tudors, breitlings, omegas, grand seikos etc. and while some have stuck (e.g. i love the breitling superoceans) I have a hard time appreciating others relative to Rolex. They just feel 'lesser' especially the bracelet situation. Now to be honest I had the same lesser feeling about 5 digit rolexes in the past, but I've been thinking more and more about how damn comfortable they were. And the charm which is hard to quantify.

Lol, well in that case Rolex it is! I love my 16610.

Okay decided on 16610. Or maybe reconfirmed is the better description.

Considered the white OP39 seriously but then kept coming back to my white milgauss and explorer 1 combo. Maybe a future add.

Thought also about a blue z milgauss but then figured I don't need two milgauss' and have blue covered with the yachtmaster and blusey (plus unpictured breitling superocean).

Daytona, datejust, daydate never made a strong argument for me.

Skydweller to me is just a bigger datejust (no offense, but I'm not that into movements and complications to be honest).

14060 rather than 16610 was a consideration, but I like how the latter feels on the wrist more. Slightly bigger/more substantial or something. And I've got the no date black ceramic already so why not pair a date pre-ceramic.

I did very briefly consider the CHNR but I'm not a brown guy even though this watch is gorgeous.

SD 43 I had and couldn't make comfort work. DSSD JC was briefly considered but I feel I wanted something 40mm and super comfortable, couldn't imagine better than 16610.

Finally I considered a super homage (Ginault) to scratch the 16610 itch without the price tag. But don't think I'd have felt the same way.

There's the long and exhausting through process.
