Dropped my Rolex!
Last night, I dropped my 4-year old Rolex GMT II (which was covered in thin, cotton cloth) about 4 feet onto a wooden ground. So far, time seems to be in line. Since the watch was covered in thin cloth, no scratches or dents.
If the time remains accurate, is there anything I should be worried about (that is not visible), such as accelerated wear? Do I need to take into for full service? Thanks! (edited for typos) |

Of course I would be worried on your place, but as I can see from forum, the much more worst drops in most cases didn't spoil the mechanism.
Track the accuracy for sure |

If a problem doesn't arise than I wouldn't worry about it.

I have a friend who dropped his out of a moving car... Even though it has battle scars, still keeps time well and works perfectly. I personally wouldn't be worried about it.

OP here. Well, it's been one week, and the watch is keeping as good a time as before, so I suppose nothing to worry about. Thanks all!

As long as it is accurate and it's power reserve is unaffected I'd say you're OK.

Do the hammer test.
Smack it and see if it still keeps good time. If not, for sure it was affected by the drop.

My BBN has seen my hw floor close up on two occasions and any anomalies sorted themselves pretty quick. Came out with two light scratches though

I've actually dropped my SubC Date as I was taking it out of the winder. It fell about 4-5 feet onto my wooden floor lug first.
Wooden floor has a deep dent. The SubC is fine! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Did the same thing to my 2018 GMT Master II Pepsi. Ya the new one. OUCH!
Idiot, had it sitting on a bunch of books on my desk, as I was cleaning another watch. Phone rang, bumped the books to answer, and the watch fell to the ground. Luckily it was only about a 2.5 foot drop onto hard wood. Landed on the bracelet face up. No dings or dents, but my heart sank. Been over two months now and it is well within tolerance. Last month only gaining 10 seconds. Think I dodged a bullet, and very thankful. My 2016 two tone Sub has been serviced, and picks up about 45 seconds a month. Go figure, don't think I will drop that one :) |

I've dropped a few of my watches and even stood on a couple of them. Never any damage.
These things are hardy. |
