My koi Carp Pond.
My little Koi pond all self built, and filtration all my own work. Most of my fish are from Japanese bred stock, with a few from Israeli stock.Size is just over 15ftX7ft and 4ft in the deepest part.Pictures taken with the Sony phone camera, just could not get them to stay still and pose. The one with a finger in its mouth is my favourite fish, and loves brown wholemeal bread.
Feedng Time This one is extra hungry This is my best fish about 16 inches excluding tail

They're lovely fish Peter, I find them very relaxing in their measured, purposeful ways. Great colours on your favourite too!
My parents used to have a pair of them in the dam in their backyard, and it was great watching their big orange bodies surface whenever you came with bread.

Ohhhh I can't wait I just hope you sent then via UPS or FedEx. There could be some problems for me if they get held up via the USPS.

If they don't arrive, blame the QANTAS baggage handlers. As you may have heard, we've had a bit of trouble with them of late. Planting stuff...stealing stuff.... They've now got huge rolls of cling-wrap at the airports, and people actually wrap their suitcases up like a packed lunch!

Sorry mate much to expensive now to eat, a fish that size and quality would cost to buy retail now around £600 -£700

Only once I was lucky in a way it only took quite a large goldfish that someone had given me,because it out grew its tank.Unlucky for the goldfish but a nice snack for the Heron. The pond is covered with two light weight frames covered in like a plastic twill weld like the stuff they use for aviaries.

All my fish were bought as young stock, but most are Japanese bred fish. With a few Israeli fish, the Japanese fish have much better colour. So the over the years cost is not as high as the watch bug.The oldest documented Koi was 226 Years old,and the highest price paid (it is rumoured) was $2.3 Million. But its quite common to pay Rolex prices for well marked adult fish. The Japanese name for Koi is Nishikigoi, but true Nishikigoi were developed by the Chinese over 2000 years ago.But the Japanese, have refined Koi breeding to an fine art and are mainly responsible for the beautiful colours and patterns available on todays fish.Could you imagine paying $2.3 million for anything, but $2.3 million for a fish that you dare not eat.
