fair price for pre-owned Daytona 116500LN black dial?

What would you say is a fair price for 2017-2018 preowned Daytona with minor wear scratches?

Prices are going up again, I’ve been on a so called “list” with 2 AD’s for one for about almost 3 years with frequent “check in’s” by myself.(every 2 to 3 months). I finally decided to pay the “Premium” and bought a 116500LN BLK Dial from DavidSW last month because of the “temporary decrease”(((Paid about $19k for MINT FULL SET circa 2016))). What made me go Grey was all the news about Rolex closing down, YouTube and info from dealers that “these watches”,...SS Professional’s are only being offered to existing clients first many times. I’ve also heard that some of the Grey Dealers do in fact get these directly from AD’s by “Package Deals”! If you have the funds and if the price is right,...PULL THE TRIGGER! I have no regrets. DavidSW has been first class with selection and service, Chris from DavidSW even negotiated the price a little because of maybe “CCOVID 19” situation and was really nice and helpful throughout the whole process, but none the less it was worth it for me paying a Premium because I don’t think inventory can match demand. These Rolex Watches are being OVERLY hyped up and due to Instagram and New Wealth,...I don’t see prices going down. Buy what you like and never worry about price as much as these watches because the WatchWorld has changed since Ceramic Bezels were introduced and with the auction of Paul Newman’s own watch. Have to enjoy life and let people play games and waste time! Now I gotta go make more money because it’s easier for me than playing with AD’s. Note: Grey's have a better selection and are better with Customer Service in my opinion. Money always talks and these AD’s are slowly losing clients selling just DateJust Models to true watch fans!

That price is determined by what someone actually pays for it. Maybe that’s you, maybe it’s the person who outbids you. There really is no other way to know.

And IBTL.

Like other Daytonas the price tends to float to the most you could ever imagine paying +$1,000.

Whatever you’re willing to pay for it. It’s not for us to determine what is a fair price for you

I guess the answer to whether one would go gray or wait on an ADs list depends on the market they are in.

If you want it now, search for the current fair market value and try to justify it to yourself. Half of the people here will say go grey and the other half will give you grief for paying over retail. I went grey and have no regrets. I even got the white dial grey as well. Still no regrets. I still enjoy wearing both.

Which for me is better? Black.

Check Chrono24 and the websites for the trusted sellers in the boutique on here...that’ll give you a good idea as to what police you’re looking at.

A fair price is whatever you are willing to pay.
