Agreed, NATOs seem to be more popular in the UK. Probably nothing to it, but I just see the holes as not only unsightly but something to go wrong and have a bracelet come off, Murphy's Law you know.

I can sell you a $500 nato if that will make it ok?

They are colorful and durable.

James Bond wore one.

Remember Rolex made milsubs that were exclusively meant to be worn on natos.

You can also use a quality water resistant leather strap For a different look.

to repeat , when traveling, I choose to wear my Rolex as I have for nearly 30 years, however times have changed and sometimes it is useful to fly under the radar with a $15 strap.

Another reason.
It is in my opinion a superior design that I appreciated from my very first watch. Why should anyone have to poke at the back of their watch with a non standard micro forked tool the is a pia to buy and use when a case with holes allow you to do the job with a variety of readily available pin type tools.

Also, The spring bar used with lugholes is thicker and and seats further into the lugs.

And still another reason
When bringing your Rolex in for service, if your choice is to not have the watch polished, it is even money if or not rscny ignores your request. By easily removing the bracelet and leaving it home before service, it becomes a small measure to give the tech pause before grinding away at your watch... maybe the tech will take a moment to read the work order and notice the big letters that say DO NOT POLISH. maybe?

It’s a tool watch.
Bless you Sir.

Definitely lug holes... My long term plans are to get a jubilee bracelet for my 16710 as well as a 16570 polar and occasionally put the jubilee on the Exp II.

♛- Yet to be determined, but a white 16520 is on the short list. (I believe that I'll be able to read it better than my old 116520)
