Forgive me for the silly question guys, but what is “gilt” on the dials that was mentioned several times in the previous posts?

"Gilt" means a thin layer of gold. Any watch with gold text and markers is considered "gilt." It's generally considered a vintage style.

It would be so easy for Tudor to do a Sub with the 58 case. It would be massively popular, but are they worried it would dent Rolex sales? Surely they could differentiate by keeping the snowflake hands and offer blue and red combos instead of black?

I don’t see hardly anything throwing a wrench in sales of the Rolex Submariner. The wait list at ADs is too long. Assuming that is indeed the case, I hope they enable BB 58 production to meet demand, instead of trying to drum up desirability for the Tudor brand by creating sought-after models with a wait list.
