Both have their charms, but I lean towards sticks (batons) with the lume for a more sporty look. Buy what you like though. Good luck. Cheers!

DJ gives you options, which is great. I have 36mm white romans, but easily could’ve gone blue sticks. The white was more different from my Sub, so that tilted things in favor of the white romans. No wrong choices here.

Sticks on silver dial, jubilee bracelet and fluted bezel. My choice.

Sticks all the way. Romans look too busy. The stick baton dial in silver with fluted bezel and Jubilee bracelet is absolutely classic.

On all-steel I'm a sticks man, for sure. On a two-tone watch, there are some dials with Roman numerals that would make it a tougher decision for me.

Stick or Roman Dial on 36mm Datejust?

The Romans are intricate and visually artistic especially when a contrasting color is used vs. that in the dial.

But it’s hard to beat the elegant simplicity of the ordinary indices on the vintage DJs. The newer fat sticks not so much.

I agree with Romans looking too busy. I went with sticks on one of mine and diamonds on the other.

Stick looks great on newer models where the barons are thicker instead of the thin baton

Personally would go roman, old and new and Buckley all looks good and timeless

I've had and still have several DJs. I've always had stick dials, I believe it's the best choice. I've had many silver dials but they can be plain in the long way. Blue, black or -better- slate would be the best choice, it depends on the model and specifically on the sticks. They should somehow "fill up" the dial, so should be longer or more towards the centre of the dial.
