I keep thinking, is there something wrong with me? I am not rich by far, and saving all my pennies for a day\date that i am lusting over. i have saved up enough to get pretty much any SS or TT model I want, but i just cant bring myself to get anything but the president.

Not at all. It is a milestone, I also had to work very hard and save to buy mine; now it is much more special to me because of this.

I know exactly how you feel. I have a SS Submariner and SS/Plat YM and yet still trying to save every cents I can to buy a SS Daytona.

Very weird. Like harvey said. It is an illness.

Not crazy but smart. That is my all time favorite watch by Rolex. I have not yet had the privilege to strap one to my wrist but this is on my list of things to do before I am 50… I say hold out a little longer and get the DD. I know Ben Bridge is offering 30% down no interest for 12 months. They actually take the remaining dollar amount and divide it by 12 so you have no choice but to pay it off in that 12 month period. Not sure what the resale in on a DD I know all the sport models do very well.

Do what I did, take 3K to the casino, put it on the Roulette color of your choice, and if it comes up, bang you've got a prez, you loose and buy the Sub. I have a Sub BTW

Yes... there is something wrong with you... and me... and probably most people here on TRF. I'm starting a fund. I'll call it: The Rolex obsession fund. There are various degrees of the illness, several possible treatments.... I'm thinking of modeling it after the 12 step program. I'll start the chapter in SOCAL. We'll have our first meeting tonight and I'll kick it off by saying: "My name is Paul, and I have the Rolex obsession." Everyone will respond: "HI PAUL!" Everyone welcome... meeting starts at 8:00

You are definitely not alone on this forum. I haven't even picked up my new watch yet and I'm already planning the next one. It is an illness and it looks to be contagious!

I agree with some of the others....don't merely settle for your second or third choice, wait and get the watch you REALLY WANT. If the DD gets you excited, then that's the watch for YOU my friend.

I know the DD had always excited me, and after finally getting one, and then another, I'm overwhelmed with wristjoy.

There's nothing wrong with working and saving every last penny for what you want. I read in this forum somewhere that it might even inspire others to do the same to reach their own personal goals because of seeing that watch on your wrist. Get it!!!

I've been wondering the same with myself. I'm far from wealthy, but I've always felt the need to have a luxury watch. I drive an old car, never take vacations, brown bag my lunches, but when it comes to watches I spoil myself. A fancy house requires property taxes and constant up keep, a luxury car requires regular maintenance, vacations last only for a short time, but a watch is close to you and more permanent (I'm not a flipper).

I don't care much for houses or cars or any other material stuff, I like it, but not for me..
Due to the fact that I only work three days a week I can spend much time with my 4 year old daugter and my 1 year old son, now that is what I call luxury..

When it comes to watches, well, as stated above in this thread, it's a bit like a illness, but a healthy one..
Heck, I started collecting watches after I quit smoking, and I smoked 2 packs a day, you all do the math..

Collecting watches is much more healthier..
