It’s one of those 9 o’clock crown models... so honest mistake.

LOL, how funny.

Customer : Excuse me, do you have any LHD Pelagos available?

Dealer : Eh, WTF you taking about, they don't exist. What you see if all we have.

Like an automobile, you wouldn't expect to drive a car for an entire day just to gauge its fuel-efficiency, would you? (sure, some cars have that indicator on their dashboard these days, but that wasn't the case 10-15 years ago!)

When you go to a car dealership, you test the car to see if it works. The same is true for a wristwatch. You can wind it and for a few minutes monitor if it's keeping exact time (the delta should be negligble after only 10-15 min; perhaps more apparent by the time the day's up.

Finally, the industry standard is to not wind the timepieces, or even engage the quartz if that's the type of watch you're looking for.
No, his question is not.

Please explain how the watch winding industry is in business then.

Also invest in a carbon monoxide detector or two, because I’m afraid if you leave your car running in your garage while you’re sleeping it’s likely to not turn out so great.

I appreciate you taking the time to pick apart almost every one of my posts and I’m sure the 99% of people that agree with you appreciate your support. While you were picking my posts apart you must have missed the multiple times I acknowledged my mistake. Must have been really triggered to miss that and to feel the need to reiterate what’s been so blatantly explained before you.

The last sentence regarding the industry standard would have been a sufficient comment and would have educated me.

As for most of the other posters on this thread I would expect more class out of a group of presumably distinguished gentlemen. I also would offer a solution to fix your problem with the “quality” of posts “these days”. If you can’t control yourself from clicking on them and commenting (sometimes multiple times). You should probably leave the forum, start something new where you vet the idiots like myself out before they can register or post.

I joined this forum because I thought it would be different than the other social media platforms. Clearly I assumed the status of the members of this forum and the rules would keep the problems with other platforms away. It’s overwhelmingly clear now that is not the case. So hopefully I will be able to stay off the forum or delete my account so you can have your safe space back.

You gotta let it go, man. Take what you want from this forum and leave the rest. You’ll learn, just like I did.

One thing I would ask, did not see it raised, what is all the residue on the crystal of the watch. That to me that is unacceptable and the SA should have cleaned the watch with the special Rolex white cloth before you tried it on.

I think it's the plastic covering on the crystal. One would hope, anyway.

You are probably right. I have never seen an AD do that. All I ever see is the factory stickers. The plastic covering is very unattractive but the hot watches are all pre sold anyway so not a big deal. No one to impress.

You are correct the watch essentially looked like grandmas couch.
