It did bring a tear to my eye...
What Tudor did is beyond anything one could expect, the whole story is unbelievable.Thank you Tudor and thank you Hodinkee.
https://www.hodinkee.com/articles/th...eid=be3803a337 I was a medic in that era, no hero for sure, stayed in Training Command in Texas my whole service but anyone who served can feel this story of men who offered it all. My 1675 with Olongapo bracelet commemorating my service.I had this made long after my time. |

Awesome story. Love how they restored its functionality but preserved it at the same time - especially the bullet mark on the lug.
Wonder what it would fetch at auction with all this famous history now attached to it. #carverforpresident |

I want to know what it has been insured for. It is an internationally known watch at this point.

Richard, thank you for your post and service. I just saw the Hodinkee video yesterday and thought wow what a moving tribute. I have learned a great deal from members here like yourself. Really appreciate you sharing your knowledge especially on those vintage DJ and cotton bowl Tudor/Rolex. I became a proud owner of a vintage DJ with roulette wheel because of you. Cheers!

It’s hard to imagine what those poor guys went through, what Tudor/Rolex did was extremely cool. I’m guessing Hodinkee helped set it up.
Obviously Rolex/Tudor don’t need the publicity. I wonder if other companies do kind things like this for customers/vets. I have done custom guns for vets/current customers that want the rifle they carried - but can’t afford a luxury/perfect reproduction. Paid or not I have found working with veterans, police/Leo the most rewarding. I still love all my other customers, but they are a different crowd. |

Adding my thanks for the posted story. Watch and owner were so very fortunate - both then and now - to live for the recognition of their quest.
One of the high points was the amount of force needed to straighten the case. Watching that video snippet made me think back to all the faint-hearted threads asking if a baby toothbrush is too harsh for scrubbing a case. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
