FP Journe dedicated Sub Forum

The goal of this thread it is to start (or re-start if done before) the request for a dedicated FP Journe sub forum on this site.

All those in favor?

Na, no need, not too much new FP content and nice to have all the other brands together. It’s not like there are 20 new threads a day on FP content.

I vote no. Not everything needs it's own forum. This forum has a good mix.

Although FPJ is one of my favorite brands, I agree that there are not enough posts to warrant its own forum here.

Timezone.com and Watchprosite.com have their own FPJ forums.
Between those two, Watchprosite is a lot more active with FPJ content.

well this vote is not going as I planned ... I will continue my practice of entering Journe in the search box and enjoying the lottery like feeling looking for a fun new post on things FPJ

I wonder if we could get a small brand independent forum. This place is great forum for Zenith, Longines, Hublot, GO, JLC, etc. Bigger brands that don't have their own forums.

But a forum dedicated to small indepedents like FPJ, UJ, NOMOS, Akrivia, Voutilainen, Moser, etc. seems like a good idea to me.

I like this idea a lot.

That said, I know it's a giant undertaking to create a new sub-forum.

Would like to resurrect this — I definitely think times have changed and with the F.P. Journe brand on fire, mods should seriously consider a dedicated Journe forum section. It’s the most heavily discussed single independent brand on TRF and it deserves its own space.

Today alone there are 6 threads on the first page that are Journe related. If we had a dedicated section, I’m confident we’d see a lot more.

Who’s with me?

An Independents forum might be nice.

Is an Independent different from a Microbrand?

Rolex and Patek are technically Independents. But certainly not Microbrands.

Re sub forums, i would have thought VC deserves its own sub forum being the oldest of the trinity.

But i guess, Journe is the “hot” brand now.

They never add new boards here. Look at the MANY posts by many TRF members for a 'Value and Flip' board to keep the riff-raff away from the General board... which never happed.

Something tells me the board owner doesn't kow how, or can't, add new discussion sub-boards. A pity really. Then again TRF doesn't need to care...

Well someone is itching for some personal Mod attention...

I don’t see the need to attack Steve’s skills to lead TRF - nor compare TRF to an uncaring form of corporate attitude.

Good point, yeah i can be a bit harsh.

It seems many agree it would be nice to add a few boards to TRF to make it more flowing / usable / user-friendly.

Then again whaddo i know about the Internet, as was a lowly SysOp for a BBS system in the 1980s. Helped add Newsgroup discussion boards in the 1990s.... We never listened to anyone, especially to users... and that's why the Internet failed.

That is not true!
The Seiko section has been added some time ago.

How hard is it to keep track of five new messages each day in this forum, even if three of them happen to be about FPJ? I'd rather traffic congregate into one convenient place than redirecting into big empty spaces.

How were the other sections (AP, Breitling, Omega, Panerai and PP) added? They were there from the start?

Good to know. Perhaps TRF mods could start a Sticky about what additional boards would benefit users.

I'd vote for:
Price / value / flipping board

FPJ board

We asked him about it a few years back, he wasn't into the idea at the time.
