Help - coke bezel insode

Hi there!

Just bought a nice 16710 pepsi off Chrono24.
Vendor added a gmt coke insert to « sweeten the deal » pretending it’s a legit one, i.e OEM genuine one.
Not sure about it though... I only have a crappy picture but I would definitely appreciate the help of bezel experts to tell me if this is the real deal or not.

Thank you!

Thanks. So it’s a fake one? Looks like a case of « hooked 2s » to me am I right?

Thanks so it’s a fake one, that’s what I thought too but still I am surprised to see a certified professional and trusted seller on chrono24 selling fake parts and pretending they’re gen.

Stick around long enough and nothing will surprise you any more
It's horrible though, joking aside.

Yes, the hooked 2's are the obvious tell here.

Chrono 24 is an on-line clearing house. There are as many fake products and mis-matched watches there as anyplace else.

Regarding your highlighted comment above, seriously...are you serious? Trusted seller for me doesn't mean they know all things Rolex, let alone the difference between fake and genuine parts. Trusted seller means many different things to many different people.

Yeah TBH I thought it meant that the seller was more serious than a random guy. Joke’s on me I guess. Makes me question the watch now...

There you go! Serviced in June 2020 so I don’t mind polishing/new hands.
Other than that it looks legit and beautiful to me. What about you?

By your pictures it looks very nice.
Did you get the documentation for the recent RSC service?

Got a Rolex service card, but they seem extremely easy to forge. Got the results of two pressure tests. Not much info on it. And I also received the invoice for the service with the name of the original owner masked (for data privacy I assume, that’s ok) but also with the Rolex AD info masked (and I don’t see any valid reason for that).
Shown the watch to two ADs and one Rolex tech everybody said it’s nice....but no one actually looked inside. Since it’s just been serviced, it’s not due for a workshop visit for the next 5-8 years or so. If it appears to be a fake at that time, seller and Chrono24 buyer’s protection would be long gone. I am not too worried about the watch though. The seller most likely bought random accessories to make it look more like a full set and bump the price (without advertising it as a full set though) and tried to save a few bucks sending me a cheap Chinese copy of a coke bezel. If he makes it right, I will be fine with it I guess. Or maybe should I cancel the whole deal and look for something crystal clear. Not too much of a « box & paper unpolished » junkie though. I tend to wear all my watches and don’t plan on selling them for a profit. Anyway, as usual I ‘d appreciate anyone’s opinion, always helpful to read what others think!

You could have your AD open up and take a look, it wont take long or cost much.
They can check the service card and receipt invoice # with Rolex to see if it is legit.
It is most likely good but since you have your doubts you should check these things out.

good luck.

If you can get him to let you have the Rolex AD info (or which service centre did it) a simple phone call to them will confirm if it was serviced.

I had a similar thing with a 1680/8 that had a NY service paper with it. I called them, gave them the reference from the service paper and they confirmed that it had been serviced on the day/date of the paper.

Good luck.

PS: I can't help with that new bezel - I'm sure one of the knowledgeable types here will though.
