“No, you’re not” is not even an applicable response to what I stated. You sound silly. As I said, there’s nothing wrong with getting more opinions on a forum containing a wealth of people who are actually helpful and kind, unlike yourself. Secondly, good thing no one is asking you to go to dinner! Hope your condescension made your seemingly boring day a bit better pal |

Nice watch but it has been in an accident. Though it should be an easy fix for a jeweller/goldsmith. It might just be a case of pulling or twisting and tapping back into shape. Tell the seller to pay for it to be done and made 'excellent condition' or you don't want it. (as it has clearly been in an accident)

This is the email response I received from SwissWatchExpo after the return went through. The salesperson, Creed, claims they were able to fix the end-link and make it even in a "matter of seconds"
Sounds dishonest to me, but its not my issue any longer. Edit: I paid with Paypal, not sure why his email says Affirm, but regardless the refund to my account is pending. |

Glad you got a refund! Now the search continues for the right DD in excellent condition. You definitely should be happy right off the bat when spending that kind of money on anything luxury. Good luck man, you'll find it.

Should I be worried about the condition and longevity of this recent purchase?

Good, it's happy ending.
Lately I notice that all the price of new Day-Date have gone up in secondary market. |

Do you really want a second-hand watch? One that may have thousands of hours of use; made from a soft, easily marked material? I can’t help wondering whether, for you, saving up and buying a new Rolex might be less stressful.
Buying ‘used’ is cheaper for a reason. It suits some, not others. To me, the real advantage of ‘new’ is a five-year guarantee and the awareness that there can be no ‘hidden’ history. But, inevitably, there’s a price..... |

I’d Reply to the email, thank them for the full refund and advise them of the fact you paid with PayPal. The only reason it may say Affirm is if you chose the PayPal installment payment option during checkout. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

They screwed up in the first place, all of the commotion can be avoided if they checked and fixed the issue before listing. Just another way to tell how serious they were to the watches they put on sale. Getting the refund was definitely the right choice.

What a horrible reply that you received from the seller.
First, of course they should refund shipping if they misrepresented the product. Second, I doubt that they fixed the end link in a matter of seconds. I would reply to them telling them that they should inspect their watches better because they just lost a sale for "a non-issue that was resolved in seconds". Seeing issues like this make me wonder about other things that they may be hiding on their other watches. And what's the point of the last statement about the rising prices of DD watches? Sometimes it's nice when a seller just straight up apologizes, thanks the customer for the opportunity, and wishes them well with the hopes of earning future business. |
