FS: 1969 Rolex Day-Date Ref. 1803 Smokey Gray Wideboy Dial

Hey TRF, I am offering my 1969 Rolex Day-Date Ref. 1803. This dial type is known as the “wide boy” because of the usual hour markers and handset. You can see they are block-like, and well, quite wide. These were only produced for a short period of time during the early 70’s and I believe the idea behind the design was to make the dial more legible with these thick hour markers and hands. Video: https://imgur.com/4ZrwkNe Case: Good condition 18K gold case with balanced lugs. The case shows average signs of wear from previous use and touts a well preserved fluted bezel. Dial: Very uncommon T SWISS T smokey gray sunburst pie-pan dial with gold wideboy hour markers and handset. Tritium lume plots are original, display no chipping or damage, and are even in color. Open 6/9 date disc with English day disc. Accessories: Leather taupe strap included with gold buckle. Notes: The smokey gray dial is quite subdued in low light but upon being illuminated by brighter light it really comes to life. An uncommon dial variant that doesn’t come to market often but is quite impressive. I'm asking $7250 shipped. Preferred method of payment is bank wire. I hand deliver in the Sacramento or Bay area.
