Pepsi if you care about legibility and a date.

GMT Pepsi vs WHITE FACE DAYTONA

GMT for practicality and every day use is a winner for me. I’d personally use the time zone adjustment over being able to time how fast I can get around a race track lol. The only Daytona I am attracted to is the white dial ceramic, but to be perfectly honest I am of the opinion that the model itself is all hype

If you had asked this question about five years ago you would have got an interesting comparison and discussion about the merits of having a GMT function vs a Chronograph. When you ask this question now your going to get a majority of people who will instinctively say Daytona because it’s the hardest to get with the biggest profit margin which for a lot of folk is the only thing that matters these days.
If they cost the same and had the same residual values the answers maybe different, I own both and would struggle to choose one over the other.....

Looking at all these replies, I think you can’t go wrong with either.

Obviously most would say Daytona. I hate polished lugs and wouldn’t want to mod a Rolex, so GMT for me. Value / market says Daytona is a “hotter” model, but I’d take my sub over a Daytona. GMT is my favorite.

GMT for me. I just love the blue and red bezel on the Pepsi. Always have.
For me the Daytona dial is too busy.

Clearly not. Pepsi GMT is a clear winner.

Daytona for me but 8 months later I decided to get Pepsi. Yes Pepsi has more useable functions but Daytona gets more respect as it is the pinnacle of Rolex ss lineup

Best White Face Rolex

Outside of the Daytona, what is the best white (or lighter) face Rolex? I am thinking the Explorer II Polar but there does not seem to be many options. I recently picked up the BLNR and am thinking a white face sport watch or a DateJust would be a great addition. What am I missing?

Thanks

I went with the Daytona

So iconic and clean crisp

Pepsi is more of a summer watch in my opinion and the colors don't go with everything

Have owned both - far prefer the GMT to wear - not even close.

I was able to get both at mrsp. They are stunning pieces, but I find the Pepsi more practical.

BLRO, the Daytona does very little for me - and I really don't need a chrono for anything.

If you want to eventually have both in your collection, I’d encourage you to buy the Daytona bc it will likely be more difficult to source this quickly for the foreseeable future. I think the GMT will eventually become easier to purchase, especially if we see a Blue Sub or a revised Exp II (as many have speculated on this forum and others) next week.

If I didn't have either, the GMT is my choice. But since I have a 16710, the Daytona.

I have both and it wold be a really hard choice to pick just one as the combination and difference between the two make them the perfect pair. However, if I had to pick just one, I'd pick the GMT just because of the date function and GMT function which I would have much more use for versus the chronograph.

Good thing I will never have to choose between the two!

Beautiful! These both along with the Blue dial SkyDweller would be my Dream collection! And not just because they are most sought after watches in Rolex line up but they are absolutely gorgeous!

I too have a Sub date but if given a chance to pick the Pepsi, I’d pick it up in a heartbeat! Except the dial colour, nothing is similar between the two watches. The bezel and the bracelet of the Pepsi makes it different and slightly more flashy compared to the Sub. Sub with its matt finishes oyester bracelet and black bezel would be more subtle and under the radar comparatively.

Great and Honest reply - I think exactly the same -
If they had the same resell value
- everyone will choose the GMT Pepsi

Daytona then sell it and buy a BLRO and keep the $5k in your pocket. Then you would have gotten the BLRO for like $4k
