To assess this you need to define value. In terms of monetary value, everything that’s over retail is a great value watch, as you can own it essentially for free, if you don’t even get a return on it. In terms of substance, you have too seek out the greatest quality for the lowest price, which I believe you would get at places like VC or Lange, given the discounts you can get.

It’s obvious but the Black Bay 58
I like the VC overseas too, Finally some older Patek, especially Calatrava seem good value to me. It’s always good reading threads like these.

I have never given this watch much thought... a few people mention the amazing quality of GO though... I need to look into this

always with these questions I have to go with as cheap as possible. I feel like an automatic Seiko 5 gives me 80 to 90% of the satisfaction of any other mechanical watch. For any amount you spend over like $100, I think there are diminishing returns.

JLC though I don’t own one I’ve been tempted several times. Specifically preowned.
I second the above comment on Sinn which I do own. And Omega but only 2nd hand. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

$50 on a Casio? I see you and "raise" you a $20 Casio Calculator watch CA53
Its really the most fun watch you can have for lunch money. Its a great size, sit well on the wrist, nerdy (we all know nerd wins, haha), great for calculating tips, and it even tell the time. :D

Can’t go wrong with a MK40 Speedmaster. Loved that little thing.

Just Seiko generally speaking. Quality is always top, keeps great time, and generally under or around $1k.
