Damn! I just got one today at retail. I tell myself I’m keeping this one for the long haul given how many years I’ve had my eye on it- but I’d be lying to say I wouldn’t jump at the first $50k that came my way for it ;-)

Have heard this for a while and yet the “greys” (they actually aren’t grey market dealers) seem to be doing just fine. A lot of the TS on the forum have been around a loooong time, longer than the price craziness of the last few years . Pretty sure that most of them know what they are doing in this capitalist society we live in.

$30-$32K for a steel Daytona?

For that money, you can get white gold Daytona pre owned, or an AP RO Chrono.

This price doesn't make sense. Then again, many things in the market doesn't make sense. Shares of Tesla are trading at over $2k a share today, when it was at $150 a share just 12 months ago. Anyways you analyze the company, TSLA shouldn't be trading at this price level today, but yet it is.

My co-worker that bought 700 shares of TSLA last year at $150-200 has made an absolute fortune. Should have listened to his advice.. hahaha

I think if the trend continues we should be seeing it at 30- 32k pretty soon. The demand for the 116500LN White Dial "Panda ;-)" simply vastly exceeds what supply is out there. New posts in the gray market are Snapped up almost immediately. So imho only, keep our 116500LN as it will exceed some SG models soon. Being made of ss or gold doesn't matter as people will pay for whatever they think an item's value is worth, similar to one poster's example with TESLA in this thread.

I wanted one badly but now I’m not so sure. To be honest, I wouldn’t want that pressure, to keep or not to keep. If someone offered me 30k for it I’d have to sell it. It would be irresponsible not to. That said, no one is getting that or anywhere close in a private sale most likely. For the hypothetical, I’d let her go and buy a DD in her place.
