I work in an industry where we rollout global products and I'll say we have such tight standards around when "boxes" can be opened, how to protect them, etc., with serious repercussions to franchisees or partners who violate, that we've never had a slip. I imagine Rolex probably takes a similar approach. So ADs might have some preliminary supplies and the marketing material drop kits, but they are probably locked up still - for the most part. As such, I do believe ADs who say they don't know what's coming fully just yet.

I suspect the super honest (wink) ADs have already transferred stock to the grey market sellers and these will be available on the usual websites shortly at a handsome markup. Business as usual at the Rolex dealers. (IMHO: do you really want a blue sub?)

Given that most of us are unlikely to get hold of a new model any time soon I can honestly say that I barely care.

I'm not sure if this year will be different but I guess I could be called a VIP ( I'd prefer loyal customer) and I have had the new releases on the day they hit the ADs over the last few years , Pepsi's and Batgirls ect.
I usually get a couple of day's notice from my dealer before they arrive and the release date, This release date usually came a month or two after the Basel launch.
If some new Watches were going to be in the store on Tuesday and my dealer knew then I'm sure he would have told me by now

My AD said....

My AD tells me that ‘we’ meaning regular customers, Rolex enthusiasts, probably know more than they do.

It’s the Rolex representative in the country that must know more, but they’re tight-lipped until 1st Sept...
