The 16610 is always a great first. The LV isn't a bad choice either. The 16610 was my first. Even though I have more than just one, I still wear my first the most.

While I think JJ is great and a real plus for all of us .....Don't over look the Sea-Dweller it you come across a good deal!

When I bought my first Rolex, I knew exactly which one I wanted, the 16610. I love it and wouldn't trade it for anything. Simplistic and understated beauty with an amazing history to boot.

I agree with JJ. The SS Sub w/date is awesome. Always has been, always will be. You will never regret that purchase. Then, as your collection grows (and I can tell from your post that it will, if fact, grow) you can add other Subs.......or whatever you want. Good luck and don't forget to post pictures next week when you get it.

I guess that I haven't seen a sub yet that I didn't like, but for purity of design, I have to go with a 5513 like this 40 year old:

I just ordered a brand new 14060M. To me its the best looking rolex out there.
