Right, my bad

I’m not sure measuring the crystal will tell much due to any chamfer differences but you never know. I doubt anyone is brave enough to pop the dial and measure it yet

I am also curious about that. Crystal diameters would give a good approximation of dial size difference.

Not regarding the dial, but...I'm curious about the actual lug width. I was watching a video on YouTube (Jenni Elle) and it seems the lugs are thinner on the inside to accommodate the wider bracelet, rather than reshaped from the outside. Also the case is only a fraction of a millimeter bigger.

Outside lug width has also been reduced.

It is confusing paying for less metal in these luxury timepieces, don't forget that you can now leave your watch alone for longer, as it can look after itself for an additional 20 or so hours.

Therefore you have paid more for something that doesn't actual need you as much.

I understand why Rolex did this.

On the 11....series The difference in width between the outside lug measurement and the width of the bracelet at the end link was perceived by many to be too big and made the watch head look too ‘blocky’?

This has been addressed with the 12.... series.

As you have have said the actual difference in the dimensions is minimal.

Probably the same difference in dial as the one between the case, 0.3mm

The reason you are paying more for less is the Rolex labour charge for time take to file and sand down the lug and case to the new size.

The difference is too little to see with the naked eye in any discernible way.
When you need to pull out laser meters to confirm the difference, the difference is nil.
