The saga continues.
As some may recall, my favorite watch's dial exploded and became unwearable until I decide what to do about it. So I need a watch to wear! First was the TT 1625 which was overhauled in 2014 and runs perfectly but I just wasn't ready for the TT just now (want my damn SS 1603!).
Then i pulled this 16030 from the sock drawer and for a late night ebay purchase it did pretty well until yesterday. It's been running a teeny bit fast so I had to set it every couple days and yesterday the crown would no longer catch on the threads of the tube, foiled again. You would think I could find one of these things that will run. In desperation I pulled this 1969 1603 from the recesses of the sock drawer. I have a small collection of Cotton Bowl presentation watches but really don't wear them. I got this one in 2006 and have never worn it a day.. I don't think it's ever been serviced and certainly not polished. The condition is immaculate and has not been worn much at all in it's life; You often find presentation watches that were put away as soon as possible. I wound it a few turns, set it and it hasn't missed a second in over 24 hours! Rolex are truly amazing watches.Nice to see that pretty hooked seven today. :) I've got a gorgeous oval link jubillee I've been saving for something special!. :) Here's another CB that approaches NOS. Look on the second picture, the bracelet is still so tight it's kinked! |

Love it! I only have one CB Tudor (1971), but I also have a couple of windup CB Hamilton’s (1949 and 1961) and a CB Omega automatic (1964). I enjoy wearing them and showing them to my fellow college football at work. (Heck, I even enjoy my 1978 CB digital watch)

You have some very nice watches there. The one CB 1603 all day long. And the one in drawer no. 2 well it deserves a solid gold case !!
