It’s stopped ......

Meant to get my 1680 serviced last year & said start of this year I’d get it serviced in Feb/ Mar.

Really no need to have waited so long apart from the horror stories on here about vintage watches being butchered by RSCs when returned to as new state.

Got my 16660 serviced by RSC 2 years ago & couldn’t have been happier with experience (bar the price .....)

Anyway it’s stopped & won’t start - my own fault. Watch was bought 6 years ago - service history unknown.

I’d already decided to go to an independent in north east England - not sure if open during the lockdown but I’ll make contact tomorrow & let everyone know how it goes over the following weeks

Beautiful 1680. Smart move to take it to an independent. You need that serviced. Who knows how long it’s been running on probably no lube. Hopefully, it didn’t cause any serious damage to the movement. Keep us posted and good luck

Sorry to hear that, like you I've put off servicing mine due to RSC horror stories. Good luck with the service (Duncan at Genesis?) and let us know how it goes .......and stay safe

The OP is referring to two different watches. The thread is about a 1680.

I’ve had nothing but great service at RSC St James for a few vintage/collectible pieces.

Boxed & ready to go

Got a day off on Tuesday & doing some shopping for my mum who’s in her late 70s so may try & get posted as the post office is right next to the supermarket

Must admit - would feel a lot better handing across

X2.....I have also had great service. You just need to be clear in letting them know what you do and don’t want doing. Hope you get it up and running again soon.
