Rolex Explorer Resale

I know the topic of resale value is kind of taboo on here. But it is a conversation that came up between my friend and I earlier today. As you all know some rolex models hold their value better over time than others. Submariners, GMTs and Daytonas seem to do very well. However it got me wondering. Do Explorers hold their value well? I have seen used 214270s on chrono24 that are close to retail. However I wasnt sure if this was the case across the board. For those of you who have bought and sold your explorer to fund other pieces, do you find that they did well on the secondary market? Again I dont promote buying and reselling watches for a profit. This is purely out of curiosity.

There's also been a bit more hype about the explorer recently since the new releases with it being the only 39mm "available", and its stainless steel of course. Suspect this will continue through to next year, when we might see a new one with updated movement, and maybe even increased size.
