Rolex TOG Thunderbird 1625 black dial questions
Hi there.
I’m new to this forum and would like to learn new things from the members. I have a question for the attached Rolex turn-o-graph thunderbird 1625 pictures with this black dial (pie pan?) configuration. This particular dial configuration has a bit of space between the silver colored hour bars and the edge of pie pan inner line near second markings than the ones I’ve seen before or images available online. Also, I have seen a similar dial bars in gold 1625 watches but never in silver color hour bars and black dial configuration. I was wondering if this is a correct one for the period and for the watch. The watch was for sale lately and was dated 1964. |

From I found by doing quick google search it could be a redial. As you mentioned before, the spacing is weird but also take a look at the T’s on either side of “Swiss”. Based on watches on the internet, those T’s should be right below the 36 and 34 minute markers. In contrast, the T’s on the black dial here fall between two minute markers which is incorrect. Hope that helps, not an expert tho.

Thank you.
Here are the rest of the pictures showing other parts of the Thunderbird watch. This was on a recent e-bay. |
