126610 Glidelock Bracelet Sizing Issues

Good day all.

I recently acquired the new Rolex Submariner date and have been having issues with sizing up the bracelet. I have 7 to 7 and quarter inch wrists. Flat at top.

Can anyone explain the correct way of sizing? My AD said to have it at the tightest spot and adjust. That made no sense so I’ve been playing around with 5 links at 6 o clock and 5 links at 12 o’clock. I have normally two notches on the glidelock showing but am concerned it’s scuffing the 5th link at 12 o clock position. The glidelock sits centred on my wrist.

I’ve also experimented with 4 and half links on 6 o clock and 5 on 12 o clock with 4 notches showing but then in some extreme cases the glidelock is pulled all the way out when hot and wrists swell.

What’s the correct way of doing it?

I have 5 links on the six o'clock and 4 on the twelve. Sits just right.

Hmmm I guess in the normal position now for me it’s almost like 5 (6 o’clock) and 4 and half (12 o’clock). Is it true 12 o clock should always have more links then 6 side? Or not?

Not at all. There's no clear cut rule for that. It all depends on your wrist size and shape and how it sits: wrist circumference, flat or bulbous wrist, etc.

I have a 6.75" flat wrist and 5-on-6 and 4-on-12 link combo has the perfect fit for me. However, the clasp is not dead centered, I like it to be a little bit to the right side for a natural fit.

This is exactly how I wear mine, although I suspect that we’re in the minority. Most seem to prefer more links on the 12 side.

OP - there are no rules. Wear it however it’s comfortable for you.

The number of links on each side will depend on your wrist shape. My wrist is 7 1/4 inches but round and wear 4 links at 6 and 6 links at 12 with a glidelock clasp

My wrist is 7” and flat shaped. I wear 6 links at 12 o’clock and 5 links at 6 o’clock. That sets the glidelock pretty much all the way in when my wrist is at a normal size.

The clasp is ever so slightly offset to the 12 o’clock side of my worst if that makes sense.

I set the watch with the Glidelock in the middle position so I can use it for adjustability throughout all weather conditions without having to adjust the bracelet again. I prefer the clasp to be center toward the 6 o'clock side. Just play with it to see what you like.

How many notches do you have showing in the Middle?

Thanks for this. I think for older bracelet but helped to understand the focus is on it being central.

Does anyone know how many half bracelets the older reference 116610 came with? On the newer 12 reference I got only one half link. So 10 and half links in total.

Hi OP, I have the the 116610LN and it came with 12.5 links. From the recent posts about the new 126610, owners are saying it came with 1 less link, so 11.5 links. My wrist is 6.875" and I wear it with 4 links at 6pm and 5.5 links at 12pm, with my clasp centered and 2 notches visible on the glidelock. I suggest sizing it so that under normal conditions, you have about 2-3 notches showing. This will give you room to expand when needed. Regarding scratching the links that are "inside" the glidelock ... there is NO WAY to avoid it. You will get hairline scratches on the polished sides of that link when adjusting your bracelet. Don't worry about it as it is hidden! Good luck!

If you are willing to think out of the box, you COULD try reversing the bracelet on the watch and go from there with link experimentation.
This worked for me on one Rolex that I just could not "get right."
That one is my year 2000 16613 Submariner.
The position of the clasp moved to a slightly different area and it worked out just right.
Yeah, I know, sounds weird. But it worked for me on that one watch. I just had so much trouble with it sliding to the top of my arm and trying to rotate over the side.
Not a matter of comfort, just fitment.
No other watch has ever given me this type of issue.

Yes. That’s exactly what I was thinking. 11.5 links. It’s annoying because I’ve tried every way possible. It just doesn’t fit as I like and I suddenly feel the easy link extension on my other Rolex watches made more sense for me. I’ll have a word with the RSC see if half link is available. Because that would sort my issue out. So 4.5 on 6 side and 5.5 on 12 side.

Mines a 114060. I have a 7" flat wrist. 5&5 with glidelock centered. All of my others are 6&5.
It makes no sense to me to size a glidelock bracelet at the fully closed position, you can only adjust to larger..

Must be a difference between the 12xxx and 11 series oysters and glidelock. I just can’t get it right and have ordered a second half link from my dealer to help solve. 4.5 and 5 is the closest I’m getting to the way it’s centred and comfortable.

Here are two images showing the current setup. 4.5 at 6 and 5 at 12 position. This is when I’m wearing it normally. 4 notches showing. Centred on wrist but when wrist swells it is maxed out on the glidelock.
