Hi everyone, I recently posted an article exploring the complicated world (pun intended) of the Audemars Piguet Quantieme Perpetual Automatique. Having been searching for the definitive Quantieme Perpetual for quite some time, I thought it would be useful to share the learnings from my journey so far.

The story behind the watch is absolutely fascinating and I’d love to hear your opinions on the different QP models. In the article you can find the history of the calibre 2120/2800 and an exploration into a number of the most popular and sought after references, ref. 5548, ref. 25548, ref. 25657, ref. 25661 & ref. 25668.

Wow, awesome write up! I would like to add some info if I may. The open worked platinum actually started off as 5558PT in the late 70s. I own one of them. I was told by AP that they produced 68 pieces of that. I'm not sure if AP combined the production numbers of 5558PT and 25668PT. I'm guessing they did.

What's next? Royal Oak perpetuals will be great to cover... Watchcollectinglifestyle have nice write up about RO perpetuals but not covered with many pics...

Thank you and what a stunning watch congratulations on that piece! The Openwork is truly exquisite.

The ref.5558(25558) could be seen as the predecessor to the 25668. The production count is separate for the references so the 68 pieces in PT are for the 5558(25558) only.
