Winders - Thoughts?

Anyone using a winder on their high end watch? Now that I have a perpetual in the collection, looking into a solid programable winder.

Thoughts? Suggestions? Thanks in advance...

I have a 3 watch Wolf winder. One slot used for my annual calendar, another for whatever watch my wife wants to wear for the month since she really hates setting the time (doesn't wear it daily), and the 3rd slot for when a perpetual falls in my lap.

Would recommend one for you, especially if you are rotating through a collection. If it is your 1 watch, probably would not recommend it.

I used to use but stopped. My perpetual is a manual ..so what I do is every few days go in and wind it so when I want to set it only have to forward the time a few days..

only need one for a perpetual imo. running a watch 24 7 365 is stupid if you ask me.

I used to use one but I grew tired of it. If I had a perpetual maybe. But otherwise I just store in a box.

Some of these multiple watch winders are huge.

Seem that a winder does not "wind" 24/7 - just a few minutes here and there. Unless I am mistaking.

I use a 3 slot wolf winder. Have had it for about 6 years and it has been flawless. It’s a luxury you don’t need but it’s convenient and a cool way for me to interact with and display my watches.

Got tired of setting my more complicated watches. So decided to get a winder. Needed something quiet, something of good quality to match the watches and something that could run on battery and fit in the safe.

After extensive research, I ended up buying two Swiss Kubik Master Boxes. Have been very impressed and happy with these. Size is super compact. They run 2-3 years on a single set of batteries. You can set TPD and winding direction etc. via a companion smartphone app which connects to the winder via Bluetooth (connection to a PC via USB is also possible). Not the cheapest option, but build quality is excellent.

I keep this 1630 on a winder because its a non-quickset and a pain to set the date when I haven't worn it for a while.

I just ordered a Wolf Roadster Triple Watch Winder. In reviewing the information of Wolf’s website, they list the recommended settings by manufacturer and model. My watches call for bi-directional and either 650 (Sub, GMT-II Master) or 800 (SS Sky-Dweller WD) revolutions. First, are those the inputs I should use even though the actual number of revolutions would be 1300 and 1600 respectively if set on bi-directional? Second, does the Wolf winder spread out the revolutions intermittently or do the revolutions occur continuously? Third, how do you determine the delay? Just guesstimate the charge based on reserve and how much it was worn last or maybe wind the watch no set the timer for 80 percent if the reserve? Thanks for any thoughts/comments!

Agree, Orbita makes great winders. The also have an online database with the settings for each brands movement.
