I think sometimes with the amount of calls they receive or simply their basic training to handle these calls, the SAs seem to just scribble something down (maybe) and literally forgets it about after. Earlier on when the original 58 released I kindly asked to be added to a list if it was available. They said no problem and even said I was 3rd one on the list and it should take a couple months at most.

Couple months later, I called in to follow up... Answer: sorry who are you? Oh we don't take list anymore, etc. etc.

Seems to me my original call ended up being something that went in one ear and out the other for the SA. The competency of a good sales these days seems very challenged. Safe to say I'll never call this AD again. It's unfortunate that they carry 2 of the 3/4 Tudor ADs in town.

3rd time hearing about BB58 on steel being easy to get this week.

Ive seen both black and blue BB58 on nato or leather in my ADs display case for the past month.

Seems like you were lied to. They want to curb your expectations immediately.

I would escalate to ownership to embarrass them for these horrendous tactics.

For many pieces the AD doesn't need a list. Someone will either walk in asking for one or if they do happen to put it in the case, someone will buy it.

It’s well worth the effort to find the right AD, if you have the patience to go that route these days...
I agree 100%.

Is there any reason why the AD prefer to put the watch at the window for the lucky buyer rather than call to the customer who are already on their waiting list?

Never understand how’s the game work...
Just came from UK AD close to London and they have 3 in stock - in case any UK based people are interested

Try our luck or on waiting list?

Yes. My AD has walk-in pieces like submariner for the lucky passerby. The SA isn't allowed to call their contact list about these pieces.

Who knows...it's a business, and strange things can happen sometimes.

Your best bet is to have an actual conversation with whoever put you on the list, as opposed to what we can tell you.
