On mine it appears the right date aperture window sits a touch “deeper” than the left date aperture window.

In other words, the “1” in “10” looks closer to the dial surface versus the “0” in “10”.

Correct and normal. There are two overlapping date wheels. This is how they fit the large date in a small space.

If it helps sway you, I’ve been wearing the L1 around the house in sweats and hoodies and it still works. I think it’s more versatile than just “dress watch”
