Speculation and more speculation. I just don’t get these threads particularly when it would be years before anything new arrived at an AD. .

Yep, it’s a ton of fun to read and comment. Like your MSRP speculation thread from back in March, Matt. I love reading what others think and sometimes share my thoughts. It’s interesting to look back across time, too. It’s just fun to discuss. It’s our hobby and we like to talk about it, much like car people like to talk about cars.

I would quite like a ceramic bezel for my 216570.

Is it the material? You prefer a Ceramic, or is it the color black?
I honestly don’t know if they would put Ceramic on a tool watch, one that is supposed to go in caves and up mountains etc. Then again, the Daytona and Submariner are “tool” watches. Hey, it will be interesting, let’s see what comes out of this! |

Reduce the size to 34mm with purple ceramic bezel on polished jubilee. Just kidding, add glide lock and new movement . That’s it .

Cool mock ups! I would definitely buy one (or try to) if they brought it down to 40mm! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

How about add some vintage elements? - black or brown honeycomb dial, remove the date, add the 3, 6, 9 numeric on dial, red GMT hand. The rest remain the same, no ceramic bezel please.

I really hope they equip it with a Triplock crown.
It’s a tool watch but it currently has only a Twinlock. If there is to be an anniversary model, this would be the perfect time for an upgrade. |

The Explorer II was perfected in the mid-1980s with the 16550.
Seems all 50th Anniversary Sub has the green bezel. Perhaps a green face with white gold markers & hands with a black 24 hour hand similar to the 116718 pictured while keeping the stainless bezel.

I would guess that if the size changes at all, it would move to the 41 Sub case to share parts and equipment in the assembly process.
But after following Rolex for some time, I think the only real change will be the movement upgrade |

A titanium Explorer II would be cool. I've thought this for a while. No ceramic on it for God's sake.
