looking at a datejust but....

I saw this in a local jeweller but I have a few questions I was hoping people with a bit more knowledge than I could help with.

It's supposedly a 2003 datejust on an oyster bracelet. Comes boxed but no provenance. Didn't check for any stamps on the bracelet at the time, can do that if I go back.
Apologies for the quality of the pic, best I could do with the phone at the time

My questions are

1. Looking through pictures of bracelets most seem to have screw in link pins. This doesn't, they seem to just be standard push in. Is that reasonable?Bracelet was stamped with the Rolex crown.
2. Watch was described as 2003. However, looking at the "T Swiss made T" that would imply Tritium which as far as I can gather was stopped being used by Rolex in 1998?
3. It's light. Very light compared to the tudor and Omega's I have. Are they?
4. Finally, does it look right?

Just an observation....interesting that the “4” mark is “IIII’, not “IV”
Same as my Datejust...weird I never noticed before

That's a clock makers "4;" Always used on Rolex. I've never seen one any other way.

OP, I agree, tritium isn't supportive of their date suggestion. Likely they are either trying to misrepresent or just are hopefully unknowledgeable.

Thanks. If nothing else it confirms I need to ask them a few more questions

I have the same watch with smooth bezel not fluted. Mine is a 2002 and no T's - so that piece is NOT a 2003.

If you can get the serial number you can look up the date here:

And yes this model DJ is light. It is so comfortable sometimes I will be looking for my watch without realizing that I'm already wearing it. :D

Make sure it isn't a Frankenstein.

Other than that it looks good. :)
