Did any 1675 come natively on oval link jubilees?
Hi Community,
My search hasn’t revealed a definitive answer as to whether 1675 were or weren’t natively fitted with USA oval link jubilee. I am seeing some (mostly gilt) sold on those but no solid evidence, unlike the more common 6251/62510H. Would appreciate your input. Thanks in advance! |

The oval Jubilee was only for the American Market, as produced by American partner Companies to limit the import tax to the case only and maintain a competitive price in North America.
The Oval Jubilee to me is one of the nostr comfortable Bracelet to wear. The End link where not marked except in some rare care that they were stamped 50.

Oval link Jubilees were available in the USA on GMT 1675s. During the many years that I have been collecting vintage GMTs, I've purchased a couple original, one-owner watches that were on oval link Jubilees.
I do know that the older Rolex Master Catalogues and the parts books depict the Swiss Jubilee 6251 available for the GMT 1675. I have never seen a USA version of these catalogues and personally, I believe there weren't any - just the standard Rolex versions.

The other thing that I have noticed is the USA GMT oval-link Jubilee end links that were stamped with the "50" seem to be identical in size to the other end links that were not stamped with the "50." Also, there are two versions of the clasp for the USA Jubilees - the first one has the large coronet on the outer clasp which was used prior to circa 1970, and after that the clasp coronet was significantly smaller until the end of production.

Also, these vintage sports watches, when new, were available on leather straps. This can only lead me to another assumption that dealers added or switched bracelets to these watches back during the "golden age" of vintage Rolex.

I appreciate your question. One of these Jacoby Bender bracelets is attached to my gilt 1675 (SN 696xxx), below, so I was curious too.
When a well-know Rolex bracelet restorer in the US looked at it, he said he thought these bracelets did originally come with some of the gilts, but that the shape of the internal link pins on mine (being round rather than some other shape, maybe oval?) led him to conclude that my Jubilee was from the mid-70s rather than the early 60s -- so not original to this watch. I didn't seek any other opinions, though. |

My Dad's GMT 1675/3 purchased new in Beverly Hills, CA came with an oval link two tone bracelet in 14K. The clasp has a small gold crown. Mine looks a little melted.

My 1970 1675 that was purchased from Springer a few years ago came on a small coronet oval link american jubilee. Very different in construction and feel from the D link Swiss jubilee on my 16750.

The best part is...you can chunk the crappy endlinks and good Swiss ones that fit are an easy swap.

Thank you for starting this threads as I just bought a 1675 gmt gilt from 1967 and the bracelet on it is a Jb champion. The only thing is that my gmt has been bought from NAAFI SINGAPOUR IN 1968. FYI, NAAFI was a place where British and us soldiers could spend some good time with their family or friends and you could buy omega and Rolex watches tax free. |

Sorry, this is a little late but it is a 3,248,XXX serial. Somewhere around 1973 to 1974?
