Newb AP ROC inquiry

Hi all.

I am not a "big" watch guy but have always appreciated any fine mechanical machines, cars, watches, computers, massage gun, etc.
Anyway, I had a terrible 2020 like everyone out there and I want to start 2021 feeling great. This has been on my mind for a long time but hopefully this year I can finally make it happen.
I've always admired a RO, but from lots of googling and YT, I am more drawn to ROC blue dial. Can someone throw me a bone and guide me how to go about getting one? I'm in LA if that helps, but I am open to dealing with a remote dealer. I understand it's a popular watch model but any help will be appreciated!

It’s going to be tough as your first watch at the boutique. LA AP has a bad rep when dealing with small/ new customers but no experience of my own. Best to call corporate boutiques bal harbor in Miami or NYC.
Or go to a grey dealer like David sw or takuya here on the forum in the for sale section - I’d recommend paying the premium and reward yourself immediately instead of waiting 1-2 years and being not sure if you will ever get the watch.

Use search function too - plenty of posters asked the same question. There is really good advice here - welcome.

I purchased the panda ROC from Bal Harbor about 60 days ago and he told me he cant even get a blue dial for someone that purchased 6 other pieces this year due to the priority list they currently have

Thanks for the suggestion. Funny to think there are stores out there that don't want your money! lol

Recommend your google search time (better than TRF search function) is entered in as whatever you searched plus the website behind it. e.g. how to buy first AP rolexforums.com

The Chicago AD just became a boutique and are awesome to work with. I delt wtih them 100% over the phone before and it was easy. I don't know how long the wait is for a blue dial but I would call.

I prefer the 26320 blue over the 26331 blue, I have had both and find the latter to be too dark and grew tired of the silver subdials. The folks at AP LA have been wonderful to me, they get a lot of walk ins for RO requests though, might be easier to go grey.

Its not about them not wanting your money. AP only produce about 40,000 watches in total a year and thats across the whole range, so there simply isnt enough to go around. The brand wants to stay exclusive and they do want the $$$ hence the increases in price as oppose to output.

The ROC has increased in price by 12% since only mid 2020.

FYI Rolex make close to 1Mil of watches a year which is a 25 year output for AP.

Oh sounds like your 26331 blue is up for sale to me?
I emailed them and their reply was "to build a relationship, what other models are you interested in?" lol

That's gorgeous. Is that what's called "panda"?
It seems panda is white/black but this looks white/blue.

Haha I bought one through them, sold it a year later to fund a 5980 then missed the 26331 so I had to go grey for that. Then when I acquired again, I remembered liking it more than I did and sold it towards a 26320.

Try stopping by the boutique to introduce yourself, ask for Kimberly or Ebony, the latter is my SA and she is wonderful. If not, shoot me a PM and I can introduce you to my dealer who is my go to grey market dealer, he is always reasonable (relatively speaking).
