FS: Rolex explorer II 16550 transitional reference black dial
Looking to sell my Rolex Explorer II 16550 (transitional reference). Needless to say, the reference has only been produced for a few years in mid 80s, making it a lot rarer than its successor 16570, with quirky features like open 6 and 9 and fat font bezel etc.
The watch still has the original fat font bezel and tritium markers and hands (many of the examples in the market have the 16570 bezel on them). Dial: tritium dial and hands have gained a soft natural creamy patina. Bracelet: it is in good condition with no major damage/stretch. Case: when it went in for a service in 2015, some damage was incurred to the case during the transit between the AD in central London and Rolex St. James - Therefore, the case had been replaced with a service case by Rolex St. James. The original serial number (906****) on the hang tag matches the serial number on the service paper that was given as a receipt/service docket when the watch was booked in. And since it received a new case during the service, the new serial number on the service guarantee card matches the new serial number on the service case. Paperwork/email correspondences are present to back this up. The watch was only worn a handful of times after the service, therefore the case is in excellent condition with no damages to the bevelling etc. Overall, the watch is in a very nice condition and keeps a good time. Price: £6,500. I am based in London, U.K., and F2F is possible at a safe location. The watch comes with what you see in the picture:- Box, booklets, original hang tag with serial number, sticker with model number 16550, bracelet + endlinks, RSC U.K. service guarantee from August 2015 and service papers. |
