2015 Sub Service Expectations

Like some may know just picked up a 2015 114060

The crown is a bit "tight" and there are some other little things I would like checked out. whats the basics?

$800 for regular service?
NY the spot to send?
will there be a new warranty card issued under my name?

is it even worth it for a watch this age? I have a DJ coming in and I was thinking of sending it in then

How’s it running? It’s not that old. If running Ok, I’d hold off. If you do have it serviced, you will get a new warranty card. I’m not sure what they look like today.

I’ve used both, NYC and Dallas with good results from both. A slight edge goes to NYC. It’s closer to home.

Prices to service your Rolex start from as little as $300 but prices vary depending on the model. Yes they give a 2yrs warranty.
There is one at 665 Fifth Avenue New York, check them out.

yea I was coming up with around $800 for basic service, I moved away from the east coast in fall. I dont think I would take my chances going anywhere like that currently in NY

One other thing that’s bothering me along with the loose spring bar (which is easy fix) I have never seen a little dip on the dial around the hand stack like this. I’m def not the type to look under a loupe or anything, maybe I’m off base on this, you can see a little bit of reflection that shows it here. Figured having Rolex check it out wouldn’t hurt

I have owned probably 30 Rolex watches just a couple things pilling up that makes me want to service

The dimple is common on Subs. It is a common metalworking method to strengthen the flat sheet and keep it from buckling. There is a lot of conversation on exactly why Rolex does this..

I’ve been on this site for years, still amazed at the knowledge some people have about these watches

By the way, if you can’t get to a reliable Rolex AD where you live, who is also a certified watchmaker, RSC may be your best bet.

Where did you buy the watch?

If you have concerns already they’ll probably just linger. I’ll be the dissenter here and say send it off for a service if it bothers you

It will come with a service warranty card that shows the date of service, reference/model number, serial number, but not your name. The card is a bit different than the one that comes with the watch.

It is just a piece of paper glued between two plastic sheets, not anything substantial and no anti counterfeit measures on it nor a magnetic strip or anything of the kind.

If watch is due for service, please do it.
Mechanical devices must he serviced , same as car.

Why? My 20 year old sub never was serviced, polished or opened. 4.3 seconds a day

I would, but then again I’m a preventative maintenance nut. The lubricants will be replaced, the parts cleaned, if there are any that are worn or in damaged they will be replaced, I don’t see why you what it would hurt and being ahead on regular maintenance gives me peace of mind.

My Rolex AD did an excellent in-house service of my old 1406 in the summer of 2019. I only took it in because it had started running very erratically. They replaced the main spring, oiled and cleaned it etc. No polishing! It cost me €730.

My 116610 sub was born in 2010 and was fine for 10 years then last summer she started to lose time and stopped twice. A call to Rik Dietel at Timecare and a few short weeks later she was back on my wrist freshly serviced.

Definitely take it to your AD and have the loose springbar(s) replaced. I'd hold off on the full service if it's running fine.
