Thoughts on this IWC?

I see this IWC Portugese Automatic frequently at my local AD. I definitly am a fan of IWC's, though not sure if I'm willing to pony up $10,400 USD (before discount) for it. Thoughts

They are stunning pieces IMO, but look better with the blued hands & white dials I think. 10,400 seems a bit rich! I was kicking myself a while, I passed on the chance to pick up the chrono version for under 5K.... idiot...idiot...idiot.

I think they're great, they are a very stylish watch with a nice large diameter, but are still functional & not just for show.

For me, the $10,000 mark is the magic number. I can't see myself dropping that on ONE watch.

That is undoubtedly a superb looking piece of horology, Spencer. But dropping that kind of dough would make most of us think twice....and some of us would rather go Rolex if we are prepared to spread that kind of cash around!!

It's a great watch but I agree that the white dial version looks better. Also a lot of cash, but you should be able to get a good discount.

Beautiful watch. I like quite a few from the IWC line. The Portuguese is one of my favorites, but way too steep for me

Yeah right... until you put a 190 on your wrist.

I prefer the white dial version of the Pork-and-cheeser, but I also think that is too steep a price for what you get.

Been thinking about that same watch, like it better than the white dial. As for the watch, it is a true piece of horology. Everything about it is finsished in a first class manner and it is even better looking in the flesh!! `

Trust me, I hear you guys on the price. $10,400 does sound high, however all that goes into the Portugese line and craftsmanship makes it a very nice piece. I don't plan on buying this anytime soon, however I know I can get it for 30% off which comes to $7,280.

I totally agree with your line of thinking Spencer. The watch IS expensive, but the price is not "too high".

For that kind of discount, I'd say it's worth it. IWC are beautiful and the porkncheese is one of only three from them I'd consider. It also wears really nicely too!
