i would too. submariner is the ultimate rolex model. it put rolex on the map. Bond and Rolex - nothing better.

Sadly I have too many regrets from when I was young in this hobby.

16610 was the first Rolex I ever purchased back in 1995. I tried selling it about 10 years ago but no takers, thank god. I'm so pleased I still have it. Complete set and only a week older than my nephew who will likely inherit it when I pass.

Isn't that the truth! Here's one - in 2002 I was going to buy either a 16610 sub or Explorer 14270 for my 30th b-day. I was all set to pull the trigger and then I chickened out at the last minute. I bought the top of the line Sony XBR TV, stand, and DVD player instead. I felt pleased that I saved some money and still got a sweet setup. Oh man...

Fast forward to last year. We were clearing out stuff from the basement rec room and I literally couldn't even give the old TV away. I finally donated it to a church but it had no value. The watches, however, would have had significant monetary and sentimental value as they would have been on tons of life adventures with me. Hindsight is always 20/20 but that was dumb!

Like an old ex girlfriend that you had to let go knowing its for the best!!!

Anybody else feel some remorse for a piece they've had to let go?

Of course it doesn't help when you look at the pics...…

I won’t regret selling any of the modern references “ceramic” but a sub like the one you had would make me feel bad parting with it specially if It was purchased new from AD.

My 16610 isn’t going anywhere. Purchased it in 2005. A classic.

All subs are fantastic, but the 16610 , the last of the best for me.
