Anyone on here own the Daytona 116588TBR 'Eye of the Tiger' ?

Hi All,

This watch looks crazy, I can't decide if I hate the design or love it haha.
One thing is for sure it is top tier craftsmanship.

I have been told by my AD it is super super rare.

Anyone on here have one? I wonder what the criteria is to even be offered one of these.

I saw a similar one on leather a year or two ago and the AD said they had it for several years and couldn’t sell it. I offered them like half retail for it jokingly. It’s been a while so I cannot remember if it had the diamond bezel. I think it was just the face that was wild on it.

The prerequisites are normally a very large spending history with your AD. The AD will also have to contact Rolex directly and apply for an allocation on your behalf. Basically prove why they should allocate one of these very limited production references to you.

It reminds me of Ed Hardy — which is most certainly not a compliment for Rolex. Can’t believe they put their name on this.

My jeweler has one. He loves it.

But as seen on his wrist, I was disappointed with the presence it had. The diamonds got lost in the wide gold channel serpentine setting.

Part of that is because a Daytona dial is really only 34-ish mm. So all that twisty metal against the background is, well...underwhelming.

There was one at an AD nearby over Christmas in 2019. They raffled it to people who entered for the draw and you had the opportunity to buy it at MSRP.

One simple truth about the Rolex customer is they can be extremely conservative or the most ostentatious glam yet Rolex somehow makes a watch for everybody. That’s impressive as a brand.

That was exactly my AD mentioned. They need to apply on behalf of the customer and Rolex need to allocate one to the customer.
