Advice request.
Hello all,
I am in need of selling one or two pieces off my modest collection but I can’t seem to be able to decide which to let go, so I figured I’d post here in order to get some opinions. I currently own a 126710BLRO, 16710 1998 coke (with spare Black and pepsi inserts plus spare jubilee bracelet) , 16570 1999 swiss only white dial, and lastly a new 126610LV. My most worn, daily, is the BLRO, so I’m pretty sure I’d never get rid of it. I have been wearing the 5 digits less and less, as I find myself more comfortable with the modern models. That said, every time I wear or look at my EXPII or GMTII coke I’m reminded of my youth and the 90s models I grew up looking at. I also really like the white EXPII dial and feel like it’s a nice alternative to the others which are all black and pretty similar. The 16710 is obviously super versatile since it allows me to change into 6 different combinations between inserts and bracelets. The 126610LV is a recent acquisition and I really enjoy alternating it with my BLRO. One day I’m thinking of selling the LV and the other the EXPII and/or Coke, and never seem to land on a definitive decision. I would love to hear your thoughts if you feel like chiming in! Thanks in advance! ![]() |

From what you are saying would sell the 16710 and the 16570 as IMHO watches are to be worn and not just be admired

I guess it depends too on how much money you need to raise, and if you can sell them yourself or will have to wholesale them to a dealer.

I would actually be inclined to sell the new LV. Your five-digit models are some of the more beloved from that well regarded generation, and your BLRO is a fan favorite from the modern era. Best wishes

5digits are only going up in value, BLRO has an established price and you like wearing it. LV is new and hot but if you sell and want to buy again, most probably you will be able to buy again and probably at a cheaper price. Start with LV.

I'd sell the LV because it will be around for a while and you can pick them up again in the future. You'll never get another crack at the 5 digits models. I feel the Exp2 will be updated this year causing the 5 digit to go u in value. At the very least wait until April to see what comes out and then decide.

Sounds like you have a really great collection there. Honestly I'd try to keep them all, unless you are really hard-pressed for cash. If one MUST go, then you should ditch the Coke. Despite its versatility with bracelet and bezel changes, you'd still have the BLRO which gives you the perfect jubilee and blue/red combo, while the new LV gives you a perfect submariner with Rolex green, and the polar explorer is a fantastic white-dial Rolex option with vintage vibes that can still trigger your nostalgia. You'd have all bases covered with those 3 and you don't really need the 16710.

I would keep both Pepsi's and the green Sub.
Do not sell the 16710 !! From when is the BLRO? Any issues with the 3235 movement? |

How old are you? Which watch will you wear to your grave?
I'm 64 so these thoughts are factoring into my collection. I love the 5 digits and have a 16710, 16570 and 14060M - all keepers! Figure when I'm old and frail, these are what I'll wear. A tad smaller, lighter, very comfortable for me. So I'm going to baby these and wear by larger 6 digit pieces now. When it's time, I'll pass these along to the next generation and enjoy my "keepers"! |

Don't sell your 5-digits not unless you get offered an exorbitant amount of money.
I'd move the 126610LV; it's newly released and you can re-acquire later. |

I agree with others to let the LV go, easy sale and $$$ I’d say if that’s the main goal. If it’s merely a matter of selling because you don’t wear the 5 digits then let the 16710 and 16570 go as there’s no point keeping them just for nostalgia.

Seems like I’m in the minority but I’d sell your 5 digits. You’ve said you’re wearing them less and less and watch’s are made for wearing. If you prefer the more modern references then keep them. I’ve sold 5 digit references and have no regrets.

I’d sell the BLRO and the Explorer II. The coke with two more inserts is like three watches in one. Keep the Sub for diversity, having three GMT’s seems like a lot.
