Hulk prices dropping.

Guess the hype over the Hulk is dying down.
Been watching chrono24 and the prices are slowly dropping. About 10% since first of the year. I suppose the greys that were holding them tight have started to let them go.

Spoke to my AD and he said he never saw why there was such a demand. But he added, chances seeing a Hulk in the wild was like seeing a blue SkyDweller. Just does not happen often.

If this is correct we might get to see what true inventory is of the GM. I agree they start dumping their inventory which will of course have prices drop faster. It won’t take a lot to spook the smaller GMs

It definitely is falling here in the Uk.
I always monitor the prices on chrono24, wasn’t many months ago the cheapest around were £16000 plus, currently that’s dropped to £14000

If you are talking about the new Kermit, then prices should slowly come down. Hulk will stay around the same/ climb steadily as the watch has been discontinued.

The 116610LV and the 16610LV are actually both slowly rising.

Another one of these threads.

Subjective Wishful thinking driven by cherry picking data.

Objectively, the116610LV Green Submariner has been discontinued and it's likely that given Rolex trends with models that are no longer made, it will increase in value over time with small perturbations in price along the way.

Getting away from the current 3 year insanity bubble...... Typically watch sales rise in the spring and summer. It’s been the normal cycle for decades. Outside this normal cycle, a current demographic of buyers want to show a flex of their wallet for what ever the reason and will push those select models up even more within the normal cycle. I can’t fault our trusted sellers to continue to test how much money they can extract from those select suckers....I mean “customers”. They only have to sell a few at those crazy prices since they very carefully limit how many they sell at a time from their inventory. As long as the current pyramid is not disrupted it will go on.

Three years ago I got a discount on my LVC from one of our trusted sellers. Great $8k diver but right at the edge of being overpriced for what it is. You have to really like green and that was its downfall for many of us that tried to love it long term. Some tried to love it 3 different times and had to say enough was enough and move it on.

There is an "immaculate" 2015 model for sale on a Rolex UK facebook page for £12,995 (approx 18,000 USD)

I'm not sure about Hulk prices dropping but the new Kermit's definitely are and obviously so since there's more out there now. Kermit prices in October were close to Daytona prices. Now a new Kermit can be had for less the BLRO on the grey.

I’m talking about the hulk 116610LV.
Prices rose sharply to ridiculous £18000/£20000 mark last year when it was discontinued but they have definitely been falling since.
Clearly they were artificially high and weren’t selling many for those figures so naturally to move them prices have fallen back to just above pre discontinued levels

Often there’s a dip after the initial hysteria of a discontinued hot watch, it will likely go back up though, IMO.

I really do not like to talk about grey market prices and worry about what the grey market is doing with discontinued models. Why do so many people think the Hulk is so great. It's like saying Rolex will never have another special model again. Before the Hulk, it was the 50th anniversary Kermit, and so on. Guys, let's move on. Let's have great relationships with our ADs and enjoy what we already have.

Hulk prices dropping.

5-digit Kermit and Hulk prices will never drop.
It will only increase further.

Thing is, there's a world of difference between asking price, and actual selling price.

I don't keep tabs on Hulk prices, but there's a 116710 BLNR in a jewellers near me, and it's been sitting there for just over a year now, priced at £14,999. Classic case of a stubborn vendor asking too much... but he's clearly been prepared to hold that stock rather than reduce the price and actually sell it.

I noticed that too. Hulk definitely dropping.
So is new Cermit. Alot of new incomings, which obviously increases supply & drops price.

Think part of the reason is that the GBP is strengthening so in USD/ euro its price may be stable / rising but in GBP falling. A lot of greys come from Europe.

good thing about covid is that AD have to deal with their local customer base which cuts out rich tourists from grabbing highly coveted pieces and forces AD to sell their inventory to "cheaper" and more local customers. In a big AD I was given 6 months to 1 year to get a DD40 Meteorite, and only 2 weeks in a smaller city.
