Hundreds of thousands? Lol. 100k to 150K per year - brings not more than 1.5 million!

I think that's grossly overstated. It might be 10% (and i think even that's high) for the entire Submariner range but then you divide it up between all the different color, dial, and material combinations |

There were easily hundreds of thousands produced over that 10-year run.

I'd bet the number is >1 million. Subs are ubiquitous on wrists

Some estimations: If Rolex makes 900k watches a year and 500k of them are men's watches, less than half of them are going to be sports models. That leaves about 200k sports models total. I do not think half of all Rolex sports models produced were this 1 particular steel model. It's definitely a good chunk of it, but probably more like 1/4th. 50k/year would be my guess.

I would guess each AD sees on average 2-3 per month or 30 per year. Does anyone know how many ADs exist world wide? Multiply that number by 300 (30 * 10 years) to get your approximate answer. I agree with the others it is probably in the hundreds of thousands but not more than a million.

Daytona (both white & black SS) = 14K Based on that number, my personal estimates would be Hulk/Kermit around 30K, SD43 around 35K, BLNR around 30k, Pepsi around 30k SS Submariner around 100K. SS Datejust around 100K Top sellers would be around 350K and then combinations, two-tones, PMs and then ladies model will complete the rest. |

You need to factor in Oyster Perpetuals, Explorer 1, Explorer 2, YM, YM2, Air King, Milguass, rootbeer, Skydweller. Slashing all your numbers by 1/2 and it still might be too high. I don't know how you came up with 14000 SS Daytonas. By that estimation you should have about 4 full years of production = 56000 in circulation. But hey you have you guess and I have mine. Only Rolex knows for sure, everything else is a guess |

IDK if its a good indicator, but it took 4 years for Tudor to put out 10K Pelagos LHDs.

presumably million's given is ubiquitous popularity. If someone spends money on a Swiss watch then they probably have a sub or DJ. Then Cartier then the other popular watch brands

Yes I don't think they are very popular outside or watch fans or those who were into David Beckham. I have a pelagos. Lovely watch. But no non watch person knows the brand at all. Diff offering!

But today regarding most all Rolex watches the word rare are often used for many models, but in the real world only Rolex knows production of any reference..
