Vintage Submariner 5513

Hi,

I have bought a few vintage watches in the past Heuer, Omega but never Rolex. I have come across a 1977 Sub no date, in good condition with box papers etc for £3500. Can anybody advise if this is a good purchase?

Thanks alot,

Chris

If it has an original matt black dial with tritium markers and without the white gold surrounds and the overall condition is very good, then this might be a fair price, but photos might help.

Hi Chris,
Does it have the matte dial or the glossy one with WG surroundings?
If all papers and the box is coming along with it the price is not bad
Could you maybe post some pics?

If its original it should have a matte dial, if it does not have a matte dial, I would pass and continue to look for one that did. As the others have mentioned, pics would be nice!

Hi,

Thanks for the advice. I have been told by the dealer it has a Matt black dial with tritium markers and without the WG surrounds. I only have one picture please see attached as the watch is currently being serviced by Rolex. The watch is sold on the basis that if i don't like it for any reason I get a full refund within 7 days of purchase.

Cheers,

Chris

It could be my pre-coffee eyes, but that is not a matte dialed watch, it has the white gold surrounds. So if the seller is telling you it is a matte dial, then he/she is either lying to you or has no idea what they are talking about....neither one of those are good, pass on this watch.
