There’s nothing wrong with not having a taste for high proof spirits Paul. If you like stuff like that have you tried port wine? Sandeman 20 or 30 year. Cockburn 20 year. Vintage Taylor Fladgate. Ask a local wine shop and see what they have. As far as whisky that’s smooth and sweet you might be best off making an old fashioned with something in the 80 proof range.

It doesn't have the richness of flavor that some of the offerings discussed here have, but it's a decent pour a good introduction to bourbon and whisk(e)y in general. |

Sadly I am out of space as the cabinets underneath are all filled. I need to have a couple of events once covid is over to drink this down a bit! |

Finally snagged some of that WT Rare Breed Rye and a Smoke Wagon Rare & Limited. Haven’t cracked either yet, I need to work through another bottle or two before I open these, but they will eventually be consumed. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I love Wild Turkey 101 but I wasn't a fan of the Rare Breed. Hopefully you will like it.

Baby saz tonight. Didn’t know they came in 1.75. Might have gone overboard.

One of my favorites from Ardberg. Great Scotch. I’ve always liked Ardberg but I think that’s one of the best they make. Haven’t found it locally for a bit, I was beginning to think it was a limited run.

Bowmore Enigma maybe as well. Although I’m not sure they still make it. It’s aged in sherry casks for a bit of that sweeter flavor as well. Just thought of it but moving away from traditional whiskey and scotch. I believe Drambuie may be right up your alley.

I love me some Baker’s 107, and these old diaries are excellent bourbon. Getting a little harder to find, though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

The toasted version "The holiday toast" is also pretty good, however I would probably just stick with Elijah Craig Toasted. Sourced but not sure where from; it says Kentucky so maybe Barton? It didn't seem to share a lot of similarities to 1792 and Cream of Kentucky so who knows. |

Found some Kentucky Owl confiscated on discount at Costco so figured I’d try it. Have heard it’s decent, if not a bit overpriced.
