3212.80.00 Thoughts
I was wondering what some members think of the Omega 3212.80.00 40mm date chronograph. 1164 movement. (blue dial) Is it a good dependable watch? 100m WR on a chronograph, Shower with it?
I have the Black dial version 3210.50.00 and I think it's a lovely piece. But do you think they will hold up in a every day usage in a semi rough environment. (some vibrations) (may get banged a "small" amount). given it's age. I currently wear a Breitling SO as a daily wearer. But love this smaller Speedmaster. Would like some opinions on this please.

A friend of mine owns one and it's a great watch. I think they will hold up so no need to have any concerns on dependability IMO.

I'm glad to see you like this piece enough to consider the Blue dial, Wayne!
It's a durable watch, but for the Speedmaster I believe you need to be careful the pushers don't get depressed when the watch is wet or submerged under water. Showering with it on shouldn't be a problem in theory but with the collection you've got I would certainly wear the Breitling or Seamaster when possible for anything involving water, but that's just me. ![]() From Omega.ch |

Ahh, that's the one I'm looking for. I want to find one local so I can check it out. Maybe trade a less worn piece for it. I almost have to many at this point. I kinda like sticking to just a couple of watches. May give up the SMPc towards one. Then I will have a set. One Black, one Blue! All I need I think.

In many cases less is more, to be honest. Thankfully I'm quite content with my current collection and having a hard time deciding what should be next.
It's all about what makes you happiest really as you've got many options here. |

Rommel, I have been wearing the SMPc all week, its a beast of a watch. I was having second thoughts due to the thickness ( like my PO 42) but after having the bracelet corrected it is growing on me quickly. I am extremely pleased with the robust nature and the exquisite blend of quality materials and craftsmanship. It's impressive once you spend some time with it to appreciate it. I still love the older 3210.50.00 and still thinking about the 3212.80.00. But now I'm rethinking things a bit. My nephew loves watches and we send each other pictures weekly on things we like. He is about to graduate HS. I'm thinking on gifting my Breitling collection that he adores for the occasion. And one to one of my grandsons for the same occasion. That will leave me with my omega's. Now the question of keeping what I have (all I need) or go ahead and get a 3212.80.00 just because I like it. Hmmm.

I knew that would happen, Wayne! Albeit thick I feel they're very stylish and versatile. In fact, I like the thickness of the Chronograph watches and if you wanted something to be hidden under a dress cuff you could always wear the Speesmaster if you so desired.
I think gifting one of the Breitling's is a great idea! A nice way to celebrate a milestone and get the next generation into this great hobby. You know I love Breitling and own one but without a doubt Omega is my favourite brand and offers so many options to collect, such variety. |
