It's just you. I follow closely on Watchrecon. Asking prices are fairly consistent, more or less, and there's just not much stock out there.

There's more subs out there than other SS, that is for certain.

To be fair, nobody has any idea if the dealers are actually getting their asking price or close to it and I have 0 doubt there is a tremendous amount of market manipulation going on as well. Dealer can easily say "sold" and just throw it back in the safe to set a "benchmark" for the other 20 they have in stock.

Looking at the market, as I do, I would say that there are plenty of Subs stable at about the same price with a few greedy Trusted Dealers hanging on for more. If Rolex were to increase their prices significantly the grey market prices would not increase because the upper limit of what sane people are prepared to spend has already been reached. This could spell the death of the flippers and leave the greys to do what they always did so well, taking on unwanted stock and selling it a little under retail. A win for everyone, except the flippers.

I am a Porsche guy and we have a Price Tracking thread for collector cars like the 993 ( which I have) as there's a lot of price variability. I'd love to see one for Rolex. Maybe segmented for Subs, GMT, Yachtmaster, etc. even- I have a 2016 Ceramic sub in stainless and black- kinda the classic. I'd be curious what it would sell for- certainly more than I paid I bet, but curious.

With all of the Gray's sitting on thousands of inventoried watches that really do not seem to sell, how are they feeding the family / kids?
